Senior Metals Business Analyst – Commodities - New York - up to $250k + bonus & benefits
We have exclusively partnered with a global energy and commodities firm operating in New York. The business is continuing to invest heavily in its trading and risk technology landscape, with a strong focus on scaling its metals capability. They are now looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join their global technology team, supporting the ongoing build-out of their CTRM platform within the metals space.
Role Overview
This is a key delivery role sitting within the CTRM technology function, working closely with trading, operations, middle office, and engineering teams. You’ll play a central role in shaping and delivering end-to-end physical metals capabilities across a modern platform environment, ensuring business requirements are clearly defined, technically feasible, and delivered in a controlled and scalable way.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with trading, operations, middle office, and technology teams to define and refine requirements
- Translate complex business needs into clear functional specifications for delivery teams
- Support enhancement of CTRM platform capabilities for physical metals workflows
- Analyse and improve front-to-back processes across the metals lifecycle
- Cover trade capture, logistics, inventory, settlements, pricing, and reporting
- Contribute to testing, implementation, and post-go-live optimisation
- Identify process gaps, control weaknesses, and improvement opportunities
- Act as a key bridge between business users and technology teams
- Help drive a more scalable and standardised operating model for metals
Experience Required
- Proven Business Analyst or similar experience within commodities trading
- Strong physical base metals knowledge
- Good understanding of end-to-end commodity trading workflows
- Experience with logistics, inventory, settlements, pricing, and controls in physical markets
- CTRM platform experience is ideal
- Strong stakeholder management
- Ability to translate complex requirements
- Experience working in fast-paced, delivery-focused technology environments
- Strong communication and analytical skills
