Company Description

SATURN by Abacus Solutions is an innovative enterprise business management software platform purpose-built for the energy and commodities sectors. It integrates core business-critical applications across market analysis, generation, trading, retail operations, risk, and portfolio management, providing a comprehensive end-to-end technology solution for complex commodity environments.

SATURN’s advanced capabilities support market intelligence, production costing, load forecasting, trade lifecycle management, valuation, and enterprise-wide risk oversight, enabling organizations to centralize operational, financial, and trading activities within a single system. Trusted by utilities, independent power producers (IPPs), energy retailers, regulators, and financial institutions, SATURN empowers commercial and operational teams to optimize performance, manage exposure, and make confident, data-driven decisions in dynamic markets.

Role Description

We are seeking a hands-on, commercially driven Account Executive to join our growing team in a full-time, remote capacity. This individual will play a critical role in expanding SATURN’s presence across the energy, utilities, and commodities trading ecosystem, targeting organizations that require enterprise-level solutions for trading, forecasting, risk management, and operational planning.

As one of the first dedicated sales hires outside of company leadership, this role is ideal for a self-sufficient, consultative sales professional who thrives in a highly entrepreneurial environment and is comfortable operating independently across the full sales lifecycle — from prospecting and technical discovery through solution positioning, proposal development, and contract negotiation.

You will engage directly with key stakeholders such as Trading Managers, Risk Analysts, Portfolio Managers, Commercial Operations Leaders, and Finance teams, translating complex operational and commercial pain points into tailored SATURN software solutions. Close collaboration with internal product and implementation teams will be essential to ensure alignment between technical capabilities and client-specific use cases.

This is a unique opportunity to join a small, stable, and well-established organization with a successful product footprint, where the right individual can make an immediate commercial impact by rolling up their sleeves and building meaningful relationships across the industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new enterprise sales opportunities within energy, utilities, and commodities trading organizations

  • Production costing

  • Risk and exposure monitoring

  • Portfolio optimization

  • Translate client operational challenges into solution-based value propositions tied to SATURN's capabilities
  • Develop and manage account engagement strategies to drive pipeline growth and revenue attainment
  • Navigate multi-stakeholder sales environments including commercial, operational, and IT decision-makers
  • Negotiate commercial terms and manage complex contract cycles
  • Partner with internal implementation and support teams to ensure smooth onboarding and client satisfaction
  • Maintain accurate opportunity tracking within CRM systems

  • Proficiency in CRM platforms and pipeline analytics tools
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Energy Management, Finance, or a related discipline preferred

Ideal Profile
