Overview

We are looking for a Junior & Senior Trading Application Support Analyst to join a major Energy Trading organization in Houston.

This role requires a strong functional expertise across the Front-to-Back Office chain, combined with solid production support experience. You will act as a key interface between business users and IT, ensuring the stability and proper functioning of a vendor trading platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced L2 production support on the trading platform
  • Act as a functional expert on Front-to-Back workflows and trading processes
  • Handle complex functional incidents and business issues with high autonomy
  • Analyze, prioritize, and resolve production issues impacting trading activities
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for Front Office, Risk, and Operations teams
  • Translate business issues into actionable analysis and coordinate with IT teams
  • Investigate and resolve trade lifecycle issues, including:
  • Trade capture & validation
  • Confirmations
  • Scheduling / logistics
  • P&L and risk discrepancies
  • Settlements and invoicing
  • Perform data analysis and reconciliation to identify root causes of breaks
  • Lead or contribute to root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions
  • Ensure consistency across systems (trading platform, ETRM, risk, accounting, interfaces)
  • Coordinate with external vendor support (tickets, escalations, follow-ups)
  • Participate in release cycles (UAT support, validation, production rollout)
  • Maintain and enhance support documentation (runbooks, functional procedures)

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong functional expertise in trading environments (mandatory)
  • Proven experience in Application Support (L2) within Front-to-Back Office ecosystems
  • Deep understanding of trade lifecycle and associated workflows
  • Experience supporting Energy Trading or Capital Markets activities (Power, Gas, LNG, Oil or derivatives, FX, Fixed Income, Equity)
  • Ability to analyze complex functional issues and interact with business stakeholders
  • Strong ownership, reactivity, and problem-solving mindset
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interface directly with traders and senior users

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with ETRM / CTRM platforms (Endur, Allegro, Orchestrade, etc.)
  • Knowledge of scheduling / ISO-RTO operations
  • Working knowledge of SQL / data analysis
  • Familiarity with interfaces, APIs, and system integrations
  • Understanding of ITIL processes
