Job Title: Oil Operations Operator

Summary
Responsible for end-to-end operational support of physical oil trading activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution. The role supports Africa focused trading operations, requiring coordination with terminals, suppliers, and clients across regional markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage client onboarding and KYC, ensuring completion before transaction initiation and maintaining compliant records.
- Handle contract lifecycle management, including uploading, system booking, monitoring aging, and escalation.
- Capture and maintain accurate transaction data (Business Unit, Cost Centre, Commodity) with complete supporting documentation.
- Execute daily invoicing and reconciliations, ensuring accurate application of payments and due dates, including multi-currency transactions.
- Prepare and share client statements and trader reports (weekly, fortnightly, monthly) and maintain KPI dashboards.
- Ensure adherence to SOPs, cut-offs, and compliance requirements, including reconciliation with counterparties and third parties
- Manage inventory and stock reconciliation, track movements across African terminals, and process adjustments (CNs/DNs).
- Oversee contract execution and payment tracking, ensuring no aging beyond timelines and sending nomination confirmations post funding.
- Support month-end closing, GP reconciliation, contract rollover, and audit readiness.
- Identify and escalate non-compliance issues, including aging contracts, overdue balances, and operational risks.
Monitoring & Oversight
- Track daily operational activities for SLA adherence.
- Support process improvements and efficiency initiatives.
- Report on performance, risks, and compliance status.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in commerce, Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field.
- 3–7 years of experience in oil/commodity trading operations.
- Strong knowledge of Incoterms (mandatory).
- Experience with Africa markets (East/Southern Africa) is a strong advantage.
- Familiarity with marine logistics, terminal operations, and trade finance (LCs, prepayments).
- Proficiency in ERP/CTRM systems and Excel. Key Competencies • High attention to detail and accuracy
