Senior .NET Developer – Energy Trading Systems

We are speaking with experienced Senior .NET Developers with a strong background in energy trading, commodities, or ETRM systems for anticipated contract opportunities in Houston.
This type of role would suit a hands-on developer who has worked closely with trading, risk, scheduling, or operations teams and is comfortable taking responsibility across the full software development lifecycle. The position would involve building and enhancing critical trading applications, supporting system modernisation, and potentially taking a technical lead role within a small development team.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain applications used across energy trading and commodity operations.
Work on systems supporting trade capture, positions, scheduling, risk, P&L, reporting, or market data.
Build scalable backend services using C#, .NET / .NET Core, ASP.NET Core, Web API, and SQL Server.
Collaborate directly with traders, schedulers, risk analysts, operations, and technology teams.
Support integration with ETRM / CTRM platforms and internal trading systems.
Contribute to system architecture, performance improvements, code quality, and technical direction.
Provide mentoring or technical leadership to other developers where required.
Requirements
7+ years of professional .NET development experience.
Strong experience with C#, .NET Core / .NET 6+, ASP.NET Core, Web API, and SQL Server.
Previous experience in energy trading, commodity trading, power, gas, LNG, crude, or ETRM / CTRM systems.
Good understanding of trading workflows such as trade lifecycle, positions, exposure, scheduling, nominations, mark-to-market, or P&L.
Experience with system integration, REST APIs, microservices, messaging, or real-time applications.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work directly with business users.
Experience with Azure, DevOps, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud-based platforms would be beneficial.
Prior team lead, technical lead, or senior delivery experience would be advantageous.
