Senior Gas Trader
We're working with a well-established, multi-site energy business to find a lead natural gas trader and marketer to manage and grow a significant physical gas portfolio across the US and Canada.
This is a hands-on trading role with real P&L ownership, not a support function.
The Role
- Lead trader responsible for a gas portfolio spanning multiple production sites across North America
- Execute daily & monthly physical trades (fixed, index, basis) plus financial hedging instruments
- Originate new business, manage counterparty relationships, and advise senior leadership on strategy
- Optimize pipeline capacity, storage, and hub differentials (Ship Channel, Waha, Carthage)
- Work closely with operations, risk, credit, legal, and settlements teams
What They're Looking For
- 5+ years in physical natural gas markets
- Hands-on pipeline scheduling experience
- Familiarity with Nymex, ICE, NGX and OTC transactions
- Experience with ETRM systems
- RIN/environmental attributes experience a bonus
- Strong commercial instincts with the ability to work autonomously
