Senior
Energy Market Risk Analyst.
The position
The Senior Energy Market Risk Analyst evaluates the utility’s exposure to commodity markets, delivering actionable insights for strategic decision-making. This role involves monitoring the company positions and trading activity on energy markets, performing
the calculation of various position, PnL and risk metric
(VaR, PaR, CFaR) results
, and drafting high-quality presentations and reports.
The Energy Market Risk Analyst utilizes an advanced Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) software and internally developed tools, while p
articipating
in their design, parametrization, validation and enhancement.

Responsibilities

Collects, verifies and analyzes data from multiple sources to assess market exposures and portfolio drivers.

Undertakes the calculation and validation of various position, PnL, and risk metric (VaR, PaR, CFaR) results through the ETRM system and internally developed tools; identifies key drivers of portfolio performance and conducts what-if scenario analysis.
· Prepares high-quality presentations and reports
for management, communicating above results and providing insight for decision making.

Assists in the design, parametrization and/or validation of the risk models utilized for the calculation of key metrics.
·
Participates in the design and implementation of automated workflow & reporting processes, utilizing Python/SQL/Power BI.
·
Participates in the ongoing enhancement of the ETRM system performance and the optimization of its utilization.
·
Monitors market conditions, trends, and developments to provide proactive insights.
Requirements
·
Degree/Diploma in Engineering or Finance
·
Master’s Degree in a relevant field will be considered an advantage
·
3-6 years of proven experience in a relevant field (market risk, energy sector)
·
Proficient MS Office user
·
Experience in the use of ETRM/CTRM systems (especially Openlink) will be considered an advantage
·
Understanding of the energy commodity sector
·
Advanced computer capabilities, including good knowledge of Python and SQL, and competence in data analysis tools will be considered an asset
·
Analytical mindset, problem-solving skills, structured way of thinking and working
·
Excellent command of the English language, both written and oral
·
Attention to detail and accuracy in work
