We provide end-to-end project services and have delivered Orchestrade projects across all major asset classes and sectors including investment banking, asset management, corporate treasury, commodities.

The project is a Trading and Position platform Implementation for Commodity products.

You will be part of a Top Initiative for this commodity client.

This is a brilliant opportunity to work on several type of commodity products and learn a new trading platform.

You will have the ability to showcase the work directly to the End users.

The team is responsible for the integration of a trading application (Orchestrade) used for:

  • Pre-deal origination workflow and post execution monitoring and life-cycle management.
  • Dedicated workflow, configuration of the platform, supporting business
  • Leverage strategic standard risk systems
  • Integration with Operations, Finance
  • Reporting, Reconciliation
  • Accounting

The application is Orchestrade:

  • Orchestrade is in .Net (C#): Natively connected to Excel
  • Database: Microsoft SQL
  • Delivered In-House or Hosted (Amazon Web Services)

You will be part of the development team responsible for the migration of the new trading platform.

You will act as a senior .NET developer.

Role Purpose

The Risk Stream Lead will be responsible for leading the Risk workstream within a strategic Energy Trading & Risk Management (ETRM) transformation programme, replacing Endur with Orchestrade. The role will ensure that risk measurement, control, reporting, and oversight capabilities are correctly designed, implemented, and embedded within Orchestrade for Power, Certificates, Gas, and Biomethane products.

The Risk Stream Lead will act as the primary interface between Risk, Front Office, Back Office, IT, and the Orchestrade implementation partner, ensuring robust, transparent, and auditable risk processes are delivered and adopted.

Responsibilities:

Risk Workstream Leadership

  • Lead the Risk workstream within the Orchestrade implementation programme
  • Own Risk scope, priorities, roadmap, and dependencies
  • Represent Risk requirements and controls within the wider Endur replacement programme
  • Ensure alignment between Front Office trading activity, Risk measurement, and downstream processes

Risk Requirements & Solution Design

  • Gather, document, and challenge Risk business requirements covering:

o Market risk (exposures, sensitivities, VaR, MTM)

o Credit risk and counterparty exposure

o Position monitoring and limits management

o P&L explain and risk reporting

  • Drive Risk solution design in Orchestrade, ensuring alignment with Risk policies and market best practices
  • Review and validate functional designs and configuration decisions

Orchestrade Risk Configuration & Implementation

  • Oversee configuration of Orchestrade Risk components, including:

o Market and credit risk calculations

o Curves, indices, and valuation methodologies

o Limits structures and alerts

o Risk views, dashboards, and reports

  • Ensure accurate valuation and exposure handling for Power, Gas, Biomethane, and Environmental Certificate products
  • Work closely with data and analytics teams to ensure data quality and calculation integrity

Testing, Validation & Controls

  • Lead Risk testing activities, including SIT and UAT
  • Define Risk test scenarios, controls, and acceptance criteria
  • Ensure consistent validation of valuations, sensitivities, exposures, and risk metrics against Endur and benchmark calculations
  • Support Risk sign off for go live readiness

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary Risk point of contact for:

o Risk management teams

o Trading and Front Office stakeholders

o Finance and Back Office

o IT, data, and integration teams

o Orchestrade vendor and implementation partners

  • Provide clear status reporting, risk visibility, and issue escalation to programme governance

Mandatory Skills Description:

Risk & ETRM Systems Experience

  • Strong Risk / Middle Office experience within Energy Trading organisations
  • Proven experience implementing Orchestrade or Endur in a Risk capacity
  • Hands on understanding of risk measurement within ETRM platforms
  • Experience delivering risk workstreams within large transformation programmes

Product & Market Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of:

o Power and Gas (physical and financial) markets

o Biomethane products and contract structures

o Environmental and Certificate products (e.g. Guarantees of Origin)

  • Understanding of valuation, exposure, and risk drivers for complex energy instruments

Management

  • Strong leadership of functional workstreams in complex delivery environments
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to translate Risk policies and methodologies into system configuration
  • Strong communication skills across Risk, Trading, IT, and senior stakeholders
  • Structured, control focused mindset with strong problem solving abilities

Nice-to-Have Skills Description:

  • Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Risk, energy trading, or ETRM related certifications are an advantage
