Job Description

  • Support Market risk management and risk capital allocation
  • Allocate risk capital to each trader basing on their KPI, historical performance, and trading products. Mark-to-market all of the trades every day, and monitor whether a trader’s portfolio reaches loss/position limit or not. Provide different level of warnings according to the loss level to make sure the limit is not breached.
  • Support derivatives trading to hedge, including cracks, spread flat price in Singapore OTC market, and futures in exchanges such as ICE and DME. Using hedging instruments such as forwards, futures, swaps, options, etc.
  • Support Credit risk analysis and management
  • Use given credit limits to manage and control counterparty risk, work together with risk managers in head office closely to set the credit limits.
  • Obtains and renews the key information of the counterparts annually and provides the information to the head office. Monitor the credit limit utilization every day, and asks the counterparts for collaterals when the limit is breached.
  • Interdepartmental and International Interactions
  • Within the scope of responsibilities, directly receive and implement the instructions of the overseas headquarter, and provide market intelligence report to the Beijing head office regularly; directly communicate and cooperate with the front, middle and back offices of the company and of other companies in the group.
  • Respond to local or overseas regulatory bodies on the relevant business within the scope of responsibility when required; directly communicate with domestic and foreign customers, counterparts and consulting companies.

Job Requirements

  • Master degree is preferable.
  • At least five years of professional experience as risk analyst, operation or physical trader in international trading company, with at least one year of experience in market risk management of physical commodities or related derivatives.
  • Ability to communicate in fluent English to communicate with colleague and clients well.
  • Ability to speak and write in Chinese is required to communicate with Chinese speaking associates and clients, and to report to headquarter managements in China.
  • Thorough and detailed understanding of the conditions related to international trade sanctions, in particular, US and EU sanctions on specific oil-producing countries, banks, oil companies, and shippers .
  • Hands-on experience in handling tools of risk management, including Energy trading risk management (ETRM) system, RamRisk tool and Master data management (MDM) system.
