Energy Markets & Trading | Product & Delivery Lead
We’re looking for an energy markets professional to lead the delivery of major trading capability within a sophisticated commodities business.
This is not a software engineering role, and you don't need to be a career Product Manager. We're looking for someone who understands energy or commodity markets, can work credibly alongside traders and engineers and has the drive to lead a complex technology build through to delivery.
Profiles with energy utilities or commodities trading experience are highly regarded.
What matters is that you understand markets, you're intellectually curious, driven and capable of leading a team to deliver complex and innovative solutions for sophisticated users.
Responsibilities
Be the critical link between the trading desk and the teams building the technology and infrastructure behind it.
- Lead the delivery of a major new trading capability, taking ownership from requirements and prioritisation through to implementation and readiness
- Work directly with traders, structurers and other markets specialists to understand trading requirements and commercial opportunities
- Translate complex trading and market requirements into clear priorities for technology and delivery teams
- Build and own the roadmap, making pragmatic decisions around what needs to be delivered and when
- Coordinate stakeholders across trading, technology, risk, operations and other functions to keep delivery moving
- Identify blockers, resolve competing priorities and maintain momentum in a fast-moving markets environment
- Ensure new capabilities meet the operational, risk, governance and control requirements of an institutional trading business
- Drive adoption and continuous improvement once capabilities move into production
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of energy and/or commodity markets, gained in a trading or commercially focused environment
- Exposure to trading platforms, ETRM/CTRM systems, trade capture, pricing, risk or front-to-back trading infrastructure
- A builder's mindset – driven, pragmatic and decisive, with a strong bias towards action and delivery
- A track record of taking ownership and getting complex initiatives delivered
- Experience leading teams or coordinating multidisciplinary stakeholders
- The ability to work credibly with traders and analysts while translating their requirements for technical development teams
- Strong commercial judgement and an understanding of how data and technology support trading decisions and risk management
- Strong data and technology fluency, with exposure to tools such as Python, SQL, APIs, market data platforms or trading systems highly regarded
- Confidence operating in an environment where priorities move quickly and decisions have real commercial consequences
