We are seeking an experienced
Murex MLC Consultant
to support Murex Limit Controller and credit risk-related delivery within a capital markets environment. The role requires a strong functional or techno-functional consultant with hands-on experience across
Murex MLC
, credit risk limits, counterparty exposure, limit monitoring, utilisation checks, pre-trade / post-trade controls, static data, risk reporting, testing, and front-to-back integration.
The successful candidate will work closely with
Credit Risk, Market Risk, Front Office, Middle Office, Operations, IT, Murex SMEs, project teams, and vendor stakeholders
to support requirements analysis, configuration, issue resolution, testing, implementation, and post-go-live support. The role is suited to someone with strong Murex experience who understands how MLC interacts with trade lifecycle, market data, risk calculations, counterparty setup, portfolios, collateral, regulatory reporting, and downstream systems.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of Murex experience
, with strong hands-on exposure to MLC, Credit Risk, Market Risk, limits, exposure monitoring, or front-to-back Murex delivery.
- Strong functional understanding of
Murex Limit Controller
, including limit setup, utilisation monitoring, counterparty limits, group limits, portfolio limits, pre-trade checks, post-trade controls, breach handling, and exception management.
- Experience configuring and supporting credit risk limits across counterparties, entities, products, portfolios, books, hierarchies, risk measures, exposure types, and limit structures.
- Good understanding of counterparty credit risk concepts across
PFE, EPE, ENE, CVA, exposure calculation, netting sets, collateral agreements, risk measures, and regulatory credit risk controls
.
- Experience gathering requirements from Risk, Front Office, Operations, and business users, then translating them into Murex configuration, functional specifications, test scenarios, and implementation plans.
- Strong knowledge of Murex workflows, events, impacts, OSP, static data, market data, simulations, trade lifecycle, Datamart reporting, batch processing, and downstream integration points.
- Experience supporting SIT, UAT, regression testing, defect analysis, production incident resolution, go-live preparation, and post-go-live support.
- Ability to analyse complex Murex issues across limits, exposure, market data, risk calculations, workflows, reporting, interfaces, and downstream systems.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across business, IT, Risk, Operations, vendor, and project delivery teams.
- Experience with
XVA, SACCR, Basel, regulatory capital, or credit risk regulatory reporting
would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
Murex MLC / Credit Risk
enhancements, implementation, migration, upgrade, integration, regulatory, or BAU change activity.
- Work with Credit Risk, Market Risk, Front Office, Operations, IT, and project stakeholders to gather requirements and define functional solutions.
- Configure and support
Murex Limit Controller
functionality across limit structures, counterparty limits, group limits, portfolio limits, utilisation checks, breach monitoring, alerts, and exception workflows.
- Analyse exposure calculations, limit utilisation, counterparty risk outputs, breach handling, pre-trade controls, post-trade controls, and downstream reporting requirements.
- Support setup and validation of static data including counterparties, legal entities, portfolios, books, products, hierarchies, agreements, netting sets, limit structures, risk measures, and market data dependencies.
- Coordinate with Front Office, Credit Risk, Market Risk, Middle Office, Finance, Operations, and IT teams to ensure MLC processes are correctly aligned across the full trade lifecycle.
- Support integration between Murex MLC and downstream systems, including risk reporting, regulatory reporting, finance, data warehouse, operational platforms, and control frameworks.
- Prepare functional specifications, configuration documents, process flows, test cases, issue logs, data mapping, and user support documentation.
- Execute and support SIT, UAT, regression testing, defect triage, test evidence review, business sign-off, and production readiness activities.
- Investigate and resolve Murex MLC-related production issues, including limit breaches, incorrect utilisation, exposure discrepancies, workflow exceptions, market data issues, reporting breaks, and batch failures.
- Support release readiness, cutover planning, go-live preparation, implementation execution, and post-go-live stabilisation.
- Provide clear status updates, risk escalation, issue tracking, and delivery updates to project managers and senior stakeholders.
- Work with Murex vendor teams, internal SMEs, and system integrators to manage defects, clarify expected behaviour, validate solutions, and ensure delivery quality.
- Ensure MLC delivery remains aligned with business objectives, internal controls, regulatory expectations, data quality standards, and project governance.
