Energy Management Systems Manager
We are seeking a hands-on Energy Management Systems Manager to own and evolve our front-office ETRM platform for a technology-focused energy trading team in Houston.
This hybrid manager/individual-contributor role will lead a Quant & Systems Developer while maintaining responsibility for platform architecture, trade capture, position management, valuation, settlements, reporting, data engineering, and daily production operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead platform roadmap, development priorities, coding standards, code reviews, testing, and release controls.
- Build and maintain core ETRM capabilities, including trade capture, positions, valuation, risk analytics, settlements, and reporting.
- Ensure reliable, secure, auditable data flows for trading, dispatch, risk, and finance.
- Manage platform governance, user access, security, incident response, and business continuity.
- Partner closely with trading, quant, analytics, and IT teams; support users ranging from dashboard and Excel users to developers.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience owning production trading, ETRM, or energy-management systems.
- Strong Python, data engineering, API, and time-series/dataframe experience.
- Knowledge of U.S. power markets and energy trading workflows preferred.
- Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Git/CI/CD, FastAPI, Streamlit, Dagster, Pandas, or Polars is a plus.
- Proven technical leadership, strong communication skills, and a willingness to operate in a lean, high-accountability environment.
