IT Core Platform Business Analysis Team Lead

Role Overview:
The purpose of this role is to lead and develop a team of Business Analysts, manage stakeholder relationships, and oversee the end-to-end delivery of complex business analysis initiatives within a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor, ensuring high-quality project outcomes that support the organisation's strategic objectives.
Key Skills & Experience:
- 5–10 years of Business Analysis experience within commodities trading organisations, investment banks, tier-1 consulting firms, or technology vendors serving capital markets.
- Proven experience supporting trading, risk, finance, or post-trade functions.
- Strong SQL skills with the ability to query data independently for investigation and analysis.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing complex business and technology change initiatives.
- Effective stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience owning requirements throughout the full project lifecycle.
- Capability to work in a fast-paced trading environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of Business Analysts, including performance management, coaching, mentoring, and career development.
- Establish and promote best practices, quality standards, and delivery methodologies within the BA team.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across Middle Office, Risk, Treasury, Finance, and Operations.
- Facilitate prioritisation discussions and support decision-making processes.
- Conduct business analysis by gathering, documenting, and managing requirements from inception through implementation.
- Translate requirements into user stories, specifications, and process documentation.
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure alignment throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Support operational activities such as issue resolution, data analysis, and problem-solving in a live environment.
- Operate effectively within Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery models and explore AI/GenAI tools to enhance project delivery.
Requirements:
- 5–10 years of relevant Business Analysis experience supporting trading or risk functions within commodities trading, investment banking, or similar sectors.
- Strong SQL skills with data investigation capabilities.
- Leadership experience in managing teams and driving change initiatives.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced trading environment.
- Right to work in the applicable location.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with ETRM or trade lifecycle systems.
- Familiarity with system architecture, integration patterns, and solution design.
- Experience presenting to senior management and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of AI/GenAI tools used in business analysis or project delivery.
- Exposure to both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
