Endur Business Analyst

About the Role
You'll sit at the center of a large commodities trading technology programme, translating how desks actually trade into working OpenLink Endur configuration. This is broad, cross-commodity work: power, natural gas, crude and refined products, emissions, LNG, and metals all move through the same platform, and your job is to make Endur reflect the real trade lifecycle from front-office execution through to back-office settlement.
The client is a global management and technology consultancy that partners with energy and commodities trading firms on their most complex ETRM initiatives. You'd be embedded on a programme where multiple desks are being stood up or migrated at once, so the work rewards someone who can move quickly across asset classes rather than sit deep in a single module.
If you've spent a decade in Endur and you're the person people pull in when a new commodity needs to be configured correctly the first time, this role will keep you busy in the best way.
What You'll Do
- Gather requirements directly from traders, schedulers, risk, and settlements teams, then turn them into Endur configuration and workflow design that holds up in production.
- Configure across trade capture, scheduling, logistics, risk, settlements, and accounting rather than specializing in one corner of the platform.
- Map the end-to-end trade lifecycle for multiple commodity types and make sure the platform mirrors how each desk really operates.
- Write SQL to interrogate data, validate configuration, and support reporting and reconciliation.
- Produce functional specifications, process maps, and gap analyses that both technical and business stakeholders can actually use.
- Assimilate new products and markets fast, and translate that knowledge into effective configuration decisions.
- Partner with developers and other analysts across the programme so cross-desk dependencies don't get missed.
Qualifications
Core
- 10+ years of OpenLink Endur development and configuration experience across multiple commodity asset classes.
- A track record in North American commodities trading, with working knowledge of at least three of: power, natural gas, crude oil and refined products, emissions, LNG, or metals.
- Broad Endur platform knowledge spanning trade capture, scheduling, logistics, risk, settlements, and accounting.
- Strong grasp of the full trade lifecycle, front-office through back-office, across more than one commodity.
- Strong SQL and database design skills.
- Proven ability to bridge technical and business functions.
Nice to Have
- Experience on an ETRM programme configuring multiple commodity desks at once, ideally an Endur upgrade or greenfield build.
- Familiarity with cross-commodity risk consolidation, Greeks across asset classes, and unified PnL reporting in Endur.
- Development experience in Java or C# (JVS/AVS).
- Knowledge of integration patterns between Endur and enterprise systems (ERP, market data, scheduling).
- Prior involvement in Endur upgrade or reimplementation programs.
- Comfort using AI tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, or similar) to speed up requirements drafting, test case generation, and documentation, and a proactive interest in applying them to improve the quality of specs, process maps, and gap analyses.
