What you’ll do

As Architect for Energy Trading, you translate commercial strategy and product vision into a clear and future‑proof architecture. You combine long‑term direction with hands‑on guidance during delivery.

  • Translate business goals into actionable architecture designs and future‑state roadmaps
  • Work closely with product management, engineering managers, development teams and business analysts on new initiatives
  • Cover the full scope of energy trading, including portfolio management, asset‑backed trading, trade operations and business control
  • Identify opportunities in the market and propose improvements that increase resilience, scalability and business value
  • Simplify the landscape and address architectural risks early

Is this about you?

You are an experienced architect who enjoys working on content and complex topics. You combine business insight with system‑level thinking and feel comfortable in a fast‑moving, collaborative environment.

  • You have 5+ years of experience in an architecture role bridging business and IT
  • You have strong knowledge of the energy market, ideally wholesale trading and related administrative processes
  • You are familiar with energy trading applications such as ETRM, market data management, asset scheduling or virtual power plants
  • You understand the impact of mission‑critical deployments on cloud platforms, high‑availability environments and modern data stacks
  • You communicate clearly and enjoy working with many different stakeholders
  • Strong skills in business, data, and application architecture and modeling.
  • Experience with architecture standards and frameworks: experience with ArchiMate/TOGAF is preferred.
  • Dutch language skills are preferred

You’ll be responsible for

You ensure that Eneco’s trading landscape remains consistent, reliable and compliant in a mission‑critical context.

  • Developing and maintaining a coherent future‑state application architecture
  • Aligning COTS, SaaS and custom solutions, integrations and data platforms
  • Promoting standardisation, data centralisation and effective integration across the Trade domain
  • Reducing complexity and removing bottlenecks to improve agility and performance
  • Aligning with platform architects and engineering teams on hosting, lifecycle management and solution design
  • Collaborating with security and compliance teams to identify and mitigate architectural risks
  • Documenting current and future state architecture using ArchiMate in Ardoq
  • Actively contributing to the Architecture Community of Practice by sharing insights, standards and best practices

You work in the Trade domain, focusing on systems and value chains that support Eneco’s commercial activities in dynamic energy markets.

You are part of a management team that consists of multiple engineering managers and architects.

### Gross annual salary between €80.000 and €130.000

Work 40% at the office, 40% from home, and 20% flexibly. With manager approval, you may work abroad (within approved countries) up to 3 weeks/year, max 2 consecutively.
