X4 Technology are partnered with a global energy trading firm seeking a Senior IT Operations Manager to lead operations across a critical trading technology estate.

This is a high-impact leadership role with ownership of IT operations, service resilience, governance, risk and operational transformation across a portfolio of business-critical applications and infrastructure, including commodity trading platforms.

Working closely with Trading and Commercial leadership, you'll drive a modern, automated operating model that enables performance, scalability and business growth in a fast-moving trading environment.

Responsibilities for the Contract Senior IT Operations Manager (Energy Trading)

  • Own end-to-end IT operations across a mission-critical trading technology portfolio, ensuring secure, resilient, and cost-effective service delivery.
  • Lead operational transformation initiatives focused on automation, observability, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage the IT operating plan, budget, governance framework, service lifecycle, and third-party supplier performance.
  • Drive service management, operational risk, compliance, and IT controls while leading and developing a high-performing operations team.

Requirements for the Contract Senior IT Operations Manager (Energy Trading)

  • Strong IT Operations leadership experience within complex enterprise environments, ideally energy trading, commodities or similar front-office businesses.
  • Experience supporting Endur, ETRM/CTRM platforms or other business-critical trading systems is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record delivering service resilience, operational excellence and ITSM best practice across large-scale application and infrastructure estates.
  • Strong understanding of governance, risk, controls, compliance and vendor management.
  • Experience leading operational transformation, automation, and operating model improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior business and technology leaders.
