Job Description:
- Business analysis and solution design*
- Gather business requirements from the Risk Department, and translate them into functional and technical specifications, data models, and process flows.
- Design, document, and implement solutions for reporting, analytics, and system enhancements, working with IT and vendors from concept through delivery.
- Prepare test cases, coordinate user acceptance testing, validate system changes, and ensure documentation and sign-off before implementation.
- Data engineering and reporting automation*
- Develop and maintain data models supporting exposure reporting, P&L analysis, and management dashboards, including relational structures, reference data, and reporting data repositories
- Use SQL, Python, Power BI or similar tools to query, transform, reconcile, and validate trading, pricing, exposure, limit utilization, other-related risk data, and to automate daily reporting processes
- Identify and deliver opportunities to reduce manual adjustments, strengthen controls, and improve the reliability and timeliness of Risk reporting
- Systems and data integrity*
- Investigate system and data issues across trade capture, pricing formulas, valuation logic, curve setup, missing fixings, and mapping errors, identifying root cause and driving resolution with IT and vendors.
- Support data governance and control processes covering trades, prices, curves, counterparties, trade books, shipping, nominations, and valuation parameters.
- Desired Experience and Skills*
- Proven experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Business Analyst, or Data Analyst delivering system and reporting solutions in a trading, banking, energy, or similarly data-intensive environment.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into technical designs : functional specifications, data models, process flows, and test scripts, and to see them through to implementation.
- Strong practical SQL, Power BI, Python or similar skills for querying, joining, transforming, and validating large datasets.
- Familiarity with control frameworks, audit requirements, change management, and production support
- Solid understanding of data modeling concepts: relational structures, reference vs. transactional data, dimensional models, and reporting data marts
- Experience with APIs, data pipelines, data warehouses, or cloud platforms is a plus
- Strong investigative and problem-solving skills : able to trace reporting discrepancies through data, calculation logic, and system configuration to root cause.
- Strong communication skills, able to explain technical issues to business users and business intent to technical teams
- Ability to work under time pressure supporting critical daily reporting processes.
- Knowledge of commodity pricing structures: fixed and floating price, index-linked and average pricing, pricing periods, swaps, futures, options, and physical cargo pricing
- Exposure to Middle Office, Market Risk, or Product Control processes in a commodity trading environment (oil, gas, LNG, LPG, refined products, crude, or chemicals).
Experience with ETRM/CTRM platforms : SAP Commodity Management, Endur, Allegro, RightAngle, or similar systems
