About the Role

A leading energy major is undertaking a strategic migration of its Power & Gas trading operations from a proprietary in-house ETRM platform to a modern, vendor-based system. As part of this transformation, we are looking for an experienced Business Analyst with strong front and middle office expertise to support the full migration lifecycle — from requirements gathering and gap analysis through to UAT and go-live.

This is a high-impact role sitting at the intersection of trading business knowledge and system implementation, embedded within a dynamic commodity trading environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Elicit, document, and validate business requirements from front and middle office stakeholders across Power and Gas trading desks
  • Conduct gap analysis between the current in-house ETRM and the target platform, identifying functional, data, and workflow discrepancies
  • Translate trading desk requirements into functional specifications for development and configuration teams
  • Support data migration activities including trade history, position data, and reference data mapping
  • Facilitate workshops and working sessions with traders, risk managers, schedulers, and operations teams
  • Coordinate and lead UAT cycles, including test case design, defect tracking, and sign-off management
  • Serve as a liaison between business users and the technical/vendor delivery team throughout the project
  • Produce clear documentation including BRDs, process flows, data dictionaries, and training materials

Required Experience

  • 5+ years as a Business Analyst in commodity trading, with direct exposure to Power and/or Natural Gas trading operations
  • Solid understanding of front office workflows: deal capture, pricing, position management
  • Solid understanding of middle office workflows: P&L, risk reporting, confirmations, scheduling/nominations
  • Hands-on experience with at least one major ETRM platform — Orchestrade, Endur (OpenLink), Triplepoint, Aspect, Allegro, Brady, or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience on ETRM implementation or migration projects
  • Ability to engage credibly with both trading desks and technical teams
  • Strong documentation and communication skills

Nice to Have

  • Direct Orchestrade experience (front-to-back functional knowledge)
  • Exposure to gas pipeline scheduling or LNG operations
  • Experience working within a global energy major or large commodity trading house
