The team is responsible for the integration of a trading application (Orchestrade) used for:

• Pre-deal origination workflow and post execution monitoring and life-cycle management.
• Dedicated workflow, configuration of the platform, supporting business
• Leverage strategic standard risk systems
• Integration with Operations, Finance
• Reporting, Reconciliation
• Accounting

The application is Orchestrade:

• Orchestrade is in .Net (C#): Natively connected to Excel
• Database: Microsoft SQL
• Delivered In-House or Hosted (Amazon Web Services)

You will be part of the development team responsible for the migration of the new trading platform.

You will act as a senior .NET developer.

Role Purpose

The Accounting Stream Lead will be responsible for leading the Accounting workstream within a strategic Energy Trading & Risk Management (ETRM) transformation programme to replace Endur with Orchestrade. The role ensures that accounting requirements, financial controls, and reporting processes are correctly designed, implemented, tested, and embedded within Orchestrade for Power, Certificates, Gas, and Biomethane products.

The Accounting Stream Lead will act as the key interface between Finance, Accounting, Risk, Back Office, IT, and the Orchestrade implementation partner, ensuring the solution supports accurate, auditable, and compliant financial outcomes.

Responsibilities:

Accounting Workstream Leadership

• Lead the Accounting workstream within the Orchestrade implementation programme
• Own accounting scope, priorities, roadmap, and dependencies
• Represent Finance and Accounting requirements within the broader Endur replacement initiative
• Ensure alignment between Accounting, Risk, Front Office, and Back Office processes

Accounting Requirements & Solution Design

• Gather, document, and challenge Accounting and Finance requirements covering:

o Trade accounting and lifecycle postings

o Mark to Market (MTM) and unrealised / realised P&L

o Accruals, deferrals, and revenue recognition

o FX revaluation and remeasurement

o Fee, tax, and charge accounting

• Drive Accounting solution design in Orchestrade, ensuring alignment with accounting policies and standards (e.g. IFRS / local GAAP)
• Review and validate accounting design and configuration documents

Orchestrade Accounting Configuration & Integration

• Oversee configuration of Orchestrade accounting components, including:

o Accounting events and posting rules

o General Ledger (GL) mappings

o Accounting calendars and close processes

o Subledger outputs

• Work closely with integration teams to ensure accurate and controlled feeds to ERP / Finance systems
• Ensure correct accounting treatment for Power, Gas, Biomethane, and Environmental Certificate products

Testing, Reconciliation & Financial Control

• Lead Accounting testing activities including SIT, UAT, and parallel runs
• Define accounting test scenarios and financial sign off criteria
• Ensure reconciliation between:

o P&L (Front Office vs Accounting)

o Subledger vs General Ledger

o Endur vs Orchestrade during transition

• Support finance close, audit readiness, and cutover sign off

Stakeholder Management

• Act as the primary Accounting point of contact for:

o Finance and Accounting teams

o Risk and valuation teams

o Back Office operations

o IT, data, and integration teams

o Orchestrade vendor and system integrators

• Provide clear financial risk, issue, and progress reporting to programme governancE

Mandatory Skills Description:

Accounting & ETRM Systems

• Strong Accounting / Finance experience within Energy Trading organisations
• Proven experience implementing Orchestrade or Endur in an Accounting capacity
• Solid understanding of trade lifecycle accounting within ETRM platforms
• Experience supporting system replacements or major finance transformations

Product & Market Knowledge

• Hands on accounting experience for:

o Power and Gas (physical and financial) contracts

o Biomethane contracts and related settlement structures

o Environmental / Certificate products (e.g. Guarantees of Origin)

• Understanding of valuation driven accounting impacts in energy trading

Management

• Strong leadership of functional workstreams within complex transformation programmes
• Excellent understanding of financial controls, audit requirements, and reconciliation processes
• Ability to translate accounting policy into system configuration and posting logic
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Clear communicator, comfortable engaging with Finance, Risk, Operations, IT, and senior stakeholders

Education & Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline
• Professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA, ACA, CPA, or equivalent) is a strong advantage
